Phenology is the study of life's recurring seasonal events. Each observation is small; together they reveal how a place keeps time.

New growth

About Lindsey Thome
I'm Lindsey Thome, a writer and amateur naturalist documenting the seasonal lives of plants, animals, and fungi in Southern California's Santa Ana River watershed.
My background is in water, planning, and ecological systems, but The Living Calendar grew from a simpler practice: returning to the same places, paying attention, and recording what changes.
